All combat practices that are usually scheduled for Sundays from 4:00-7:00 pm at Bangor Housing Authority gym on Davis Road in Bangor, Maine are cancelled for Sunday, September 13, 2015. This includes Adult Heavy List, Adult Rapier Combat, Youth Combat and Youth Fencing. These practices will be running as usual next Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 4-7 pm. The Canton of Wyndriche in cooperation with the Unity College Medieval Reenactment Club are holding their first combat practice for the fall semester. This practice offers Adult Heavy List Combat as well as Adult Rapier Combat. Loaner gear and free instruction is available. The college club welcomes those interested in medieval reenactment combat to join them near the Unity College gymnasium and activities building. The Barony of Endewearde’s Sunday combat practice has moved to Dedham for Sunday, August 2, 2015. There will be an Adult Fighter & Fencer Practice at the home of Lord William of Wyndhaven in Dedham, Maine. Loaner fighter gear will be available. An official thrown weapons practice will run if a thrown weapons marshal is available. A garbed potluck dinner will follow combat practice. This gathering starts at 4:00 pm and runs until 9:00 pm. If the weather is uncooperative that day and it rains, the focus will shift to the Pennsic Pity Party and will be held indoors. The firepit will be lit and the grill will be ready to cook. Adult Fighter & Fencer practice will not be held at the Bangor Housing Authority site that day. Lord William’s home is located at 3 Anderson Way, Dedham, Maine, 04429. It is just beyond the Bald Mt access. The road is actually Johnson Rd and the lane to William’s home is Anderson Way. There will be an impromptu combat practice and demonstration of medieval arts at the Steamboat Landing, located at Front and Commercial Streets in Belfast, Maine. Practice runs from 6:00-8:00 pm. There is also an opportunity to showcase arts and sciences activities. Come out and enjoy the beautiful weather and meet with SCA friends.
