Would you like to learn how to sew your first SCA tunic? There will be a workshop for those who are new to sewing or who would like assistance in making clothing appropriate for the SCA (roughly covering the time period 600-1600). The workshop runs from 11 AM – 4 PM and will be held at the Bryant E. Moore Community & Conference Center, 5 General Moore Way, Ellsworth, Maine 04605 If you are using GPS for directional help please enter State Street in Ellsworth. You can learn more about this workshop by viewing the workshop announcement on the Canton of Basingestoches website and by following discussions on the Garb Workshop facebook event page. Plan to bring prewashed material, thread, and clothing that makes it easy to try on your new garment for fittings and adjustments. There will be folks available who will help turn you turn that flat fabric into a new fitted garment! Plan to bring your own lunch or snacks. This workshop is free and is open to anyone who wants to learn how to make SCA garb.
The Canton of Basingestoches will be hosting the Barony of Endewearde’s Arts University. The list of classes is now available to view online or download as a pdf (use the download icon in the upper right side of your screen). You can follow additional information Class Instructors are posting about their classes on the public facebook event page Barony of Endewearde Arts University. As a reminder, dayboard will not be provided at this event, so plan to pack along your own lunch or visit one of the local area restaurants.
The original date of Saturday, May 6, 2017 for the Garbed Forest Walk on the carriage roads of Acadia National Park has been rescheduled to Saturday, May 20, 2017. We will be hiking the Eagle Lake Carriage Road. Participants will meet at the entrance on Eagle Lake Road at 12:00 Noon. The walk should take about 3 hours.
The pre-registration form for the Feast of Saint Sylvester in the Canton of Basingestoches is now available online. The feast is capped at 75 people. This event will also feature Endewearde’s Premiere Arts & Sciences Championship Competition. Please download and print the pdf form and mail your pre-registration payment to Master Godric of Hamtun. If you are planning to enter the Arts & Sciences Championship please email both Lady Yzabell du Pearche (firstname.lastname@example.org) AND Mistress Agatha Wanderer (email@example.com) with your intention to compete.
There will be a meeting of the Canton of Wyndriche on Bard’s Hill at the Endewearde Hunt site in Newburgh, Maine. The meeting will begin after site cleanup is wrapped up (around noonish or 1 PM) for the Endewearde Hunt. This is a private residence. You will drive through the back yard to access the site. Heavy combat practice in Belfast Heritage Park on Thursday 7-21-16 (6:00 pm) and combined practice with Hadchester in Jefferson on Saturday 7-23-16 at the MASI site (45 Stonewall Road) – start time 10:00 am and lasting through the day. Lord Thomas Winterwade and I will be meeting once again in the Belfast Heritage Park this Thursday at 6:30pm for a joint Wyndriche/Hadchester practice. We’re also looking for a space in Rockland for the following Thursday. Details on the second part to follow.
