Lady Admiranda Howard will be hosting a garb get together at her home in Orono, Maine on Sunday, December 3, 2017. The workshop will start at 10 AM and will run until 4 PM.

Description

This class will focus on making a fitted dress with a laced front, popularly known as a cotehardie. We will be focused on drafting, fitting, and construction technique for a long sleeved, laced front, full length gown and we will be using some of the methods outlined by Tasha Kelly of Le Cotte Simple. Some methods used may not reproduce medieval tailoring techniques but will yield a gown that looks period while flattering and supporting the modern figure. All skill levels are welcome and can learn in this class, and the goal is to have everyone leave with a paper pattern and a fabric mock up that you can use at home to complete your finished dress.

Gentlemen are encouraged to attend – you can use these same techniques to make a fitted tunic!

Partners and friends are especially encouraged to attend, as these fitting methods require two people to successfully execute. If you are a helper to the person who will ultimately be wearing the garment, your presence will be most appreciated!

Please RSVP to Wendy of Wyndriche so we bring enough supplies for everyone.
